Amistad

Planting the Seeds Of Understanding
AMISTAD (meaning friendship) is an outreach ministry of the First United Methodist in Freehold serving the Greater Freehold area. It seeks to bring Hispanic children and their families closer to the community through education, health and advocacy programs.
Programs offered include:
- After-School Tutoring
- ESL for children and adults
- Advocacy
- Summer Program for Children
- Nutrition and Parenting Classes
How You Can Help:
Volunteer :
Our program is always looking for volunteers of all ages to help, whether it's once a week or once a month. The children's after school ESL program can always use homework helpers to help give one-on-one attention. You don't need to know Spanish to help out. Do you know a student who needs a community service project? Recommend AMISTAD's ESL program.
Funding :
Money is always needed to support this program. Hold a fund-raiser on behalf on AMISTAD or make a personal donation. Checks should be made payable to: "First United Methodist Church", designated for AMISTAD.
