Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Freehold!
Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Freehold! We are a church family open to all people from all backgrounds. I invite you to join us for Sunday worship at 10:00 am for inspiring and uplifting music, a relevant message that relates the Bible to today’s world, and the warmth of a vibrant Christian community. If you are looking for spiritual direction, answers to questions of faith, or more information about our church, please do not hesitate to reach out and contact me. May God bless you today and always.
Please note that due to the pandemic, we have limited in-person worship capacity. We encourage you to confirm your attendance with us in advance. We do have a livestream of the service each week on Youtube. More info can be found here.
First Time Visitor FAQs
Where do I park?
There is a parking lot behind the church building. Street parking is also available on Main Street and Broad Street. We have handicap parking spaces and reserved spaces for visitors in front of the main entrance to the building.
How do people dress for your worship service?
We invite you to "come as you are" to our worship service. People dress in all different fashions from suits and dresses to flip flops, shorts and jeans. Wear what is comfortable and appropriate for your day.
Do you have a nursery for young children?
Yes, we do have a nursery for young children staffed by trained volunteers. You may drop your children off before the service and pick them up when you depart. In the back of the Sanctuary, we have activity bags with coloring books and activities for children who attend our worship service.
Am I allowed to recieve communion as a visitor at your church?
Yes! All are welcome to receive communion at our service. We believe that the Table of our Lord is open to all people. As United Methodists, we use bread and unfermented grape juice.
What should I expect at a worship service?
At our service, we sing hymns and praise songs together, led by our choir and "Joyful Noise" worship team. We lift up prayer concerns in worship using prayer cards found in the pews. You are welcome to lift up your prayer concerns when you visit. The pastor shares a sermon based around the scripture readings for the day with a relevant message. An offering is collected and we celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month.
