A New Journey
It has been a pleasure to worship with all of you these past couple of weeks. I’ve enjoyed getting to meet many of you and I look forward to learning more about you in the coming months (and getting everyone’s name down!). This transition is a new season and a new beginning and I am excited by the opportunities God has in store for us. On my first Sunday, I preached about excellence and the ways we should seek after excellence in our daily lives. I hope that you have taken time to meditate on this and found an area where you are seeking greater excellence. For our individual excellence contributes to a more excellent church serving in the name of Jesus Christ! We’re all in this together.
Last week’s message was for those who may be too distracted to focus on excellence. Some of us are just trying to survive another day! Scripture offers us this hopeful and inspiring message: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Apart from God, it’s difficult for us to overcome life’s challenges or seek excellence in our daily lives. We need to keep a renewed focus on God’s grace working and moving among us and around us. We need to keep our eyes open to the ways God continues to guide us, protect us, and bless us.
My prayer for you and for this church is for open eyes, hearts, and minds to what God is doing among us! We may be vulnerable or running on empty but God is always there for us, ready to refuel our passion and inspire us to follow Jesus more and more. I am excited to walk alongside you in this journey.
