No Holding Back

A few months ago, I gave a children’s sermon encouraging the children to have fun and celebrate God’s blessings at church. I encouraged them to dance and move and sing as the Spirit led, even on the way up to receive Holy Communion! Well, one of the adult members of the church took this message to heart. As she went forward to receive communion, she began to dance. But as she started to dance, her friend stopped her. Her friend was too embarrassed to see her dance up the church aisle. How often do we let the judgement of others keep us from worshipping and following Jesus with all we have?
As we examined King David’s worship before the Ark of the Lord, we remember how he gave all he had in worship and praise to God. He “danced before the Lord with all his might…leaping and dancing before the Lord” (2 Samuel 6:14). God desires for us to give our all in worship and devotion. So, may we have the courage to dance like no one, but God, is watching as we give God our full and highest praise!
